چکیده

Pro-inflammatory cytokines play a vital role in periodontitis, obesity and chronic diseases. Retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4), novel adipokine has been implicated as pro-inflammatory marker other systemic In periodontal disease, RBP4 correlated with markers of low-grade inflammation. can directly induce the production mediators involved leukocyte recruitment adherence, including vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, intercellular molecule-1 etc. The present study explores correlation salivary levels parameters, BMI, WHR periodontitis patients. A total 91 subjects were included. Full mouth probing depth, clinical attachment levels, bleeding on probing, BMI & recorded. Unstimulated samples collected analyzed for levels. Pearson’s coefficient test was done to correlate Periodontal parameters. Correlation between RBP negative, weak not significant (r = - 0.016, p 0.880; r 0.165, 0.120). PPD, CAL statistically 0.076, 0.475; 0.106, 0.318). underweight Group, values did any normal weight group, only (p 0.47). overweight morbidly obese no found There is association RBP4, Chronic

Correlation between smoking and severity of periodontal disease in patients with periodontitis in Kerman

Introduction: Periodontitis is a common inflammatory disease of dental supporting tissues caused by bacteria, leading to inflammation, irreversible gum attachment loss, and alveolar bone destruction and eventually tooth loss. While infection is a necessary prerequisite for developing periodontitis, its course and severity depend on a number or factors including inheritance, health behaviors and...

Comparison of C - reactive protein Levels in Chronic Periodontitis Patients with Normal Subjects

Background: Chronic periodontitis causes systemic inflammation and increases C-reactive protein (CRP). CRP has been implicated as a possible mediator of associating periodontitis and several systemic diseases. The aim of the present study was to investigate systemic levels of CRP in patients with chronic periodontitis in comparison to periodontally healthy individuals.    Materials and methods:...

Assessment of Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) and Retinol-Binding Protein 4 (RBP4) in Type 2 Diabetic Patients with Nephropathy

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most serious microvascular complications of diabetes. The study aims to evaluate the diagnostic value of serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) as biomarkers for early detection of nephropathy in type 2 diabetic patients. The current study was performed on 150 type 2 diabetic patients. These patients w...

association of plasma retinol binding protein-4 (rbp4) and sonographic grading of fatty liver in obese iranian children

results rbp4 levels in obese children (19 482.9 ± 3 302.2 pg/ml) were higher than those found in the lean control group (14 295.68 ± 2 381.3 pg/ml) (p < 0.05). in the obese patients, rbp4 levels showed a significant correlation with the grade of fatty liver and bmi (p < 0.05). conclusions it was found that the level of rbp4 had a strong correlation with the severity of fatty liver. therefore, r...

Macrophages are novel sites of expression and regulation of retinol binding protein-4 (RBP4).

Obesity is linked to a low-level chronic inflammatory state that may contribute to the development of associated metabolic complications. Retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) is an adipokine associated with parameters of obesity including insulin resistance indices, body mass index, waist circumference, lipid profile, and recently, with circulating inflammatory factors. Due to the infiltration of a...
